Should Catholics living in adultery be given Holy Communion?
Cardinal Burke argues: "I cannot see how (the proposal to allow communion for adulterers) can go forward if we are going to honor the words of our Lord himself in the Gospel according to St. Matthew, in which he said the man who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery," said Cardinal Burke, who heads the Vatican's highest court. 'The person who's living in an irregular union is living in an adulterous union and therefore cannot be admitted to the sacraments until that situation has been rectified.' "
Also 1 Corinthians chapter 11 seems to be clear that they should not. Thoughts?

NO Catholic living in adultery cannot be given communion, those who knowingly agree to offer communion to such people are also cooperating with evil and therefore guilty of a sacrilege. Now, if you are not the pastor of a certain parish...if you are a Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, and your pastor tell you to give communion to someone after you informed him of the situation, you can accept his decision and the problem will now be his alonel

PS ... Cardinal Burke is one of my Hero's of our Faith, I believe that he would make a great Pope if it is God's will, someday.

Hello Deacon Joseph,
I agree with you. Cardinal Burke is one of the greatest Bishops alive today (along with Bishop Athanasius Schneider). If he were elected Pope, we would then really see a "new Pentecost".
